About the game

Adventure Games: The Dungeon is a cooperative story-exploration game from KOSMOS in which players awaken in a medieval prison cell with no memory of how they got there. Working together, you explore rooms, talk to characters, and combine items to uncover the mystery of the dungeon over three chapters of about 75 minutes each. Unlike EXIT-style escape games, there's no time pressure - the focus is on storytelling and discovery, with multiple valid paths through the narrative. Nothing is destroyed during play, so the game can be revisited or lent out afterward.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's editorial team appreciates how relaxed and narrative-forward this series is compared to typical escape-room games. There's no ticking clock, so groups can savor the story and really talk through their choices. The dungeon setting and light puzzle-solving make it an easy, friendly first pick for newcomers to cooperative adventure games. It won't satisfy players craving a tense race against time, but that's exactly the point.

What we like

  • No time pressure makes it welcoming for new players and families.
  • Branching story paths add some replay interest.
  • Components aren't destroyed, so the game can be shared or replayed.
  • Clear, guided structure keeps the story easy to follow.

Keep in mind

  • Lower complexity may feel too light for experienced puzzle fans.
  • Once the story is known, replay value drops.
  • Best experienced only once per group.

Who it's for

Well suited to families and casual groups of 1-4, ages 10+, who enjoy story-driven cooperative puzzles without time pressure.
