About the game
Project L is a fast-paced, tile-matching puzzle game where players use acrylic pieces to complete increasingly complex 3D-style puzzles. Starting with just two basic pieces, you spend three actions each turn to grow your engine, gain new pieces, and tackle harder puzzles for points or additional components. The tactile satisfaction of fitting pieces together drives its appeal alongside a genuinely deep drafting-and-building puzzle. It supports 1 to 4 players with a solo mode included. Games run a brisk 40 minutes.
Hobbli's Notes
The acrylic components feel fantastic in hand, and the puzzle-solving loop is surprisingly meaty for such a light, quick game. A great pick for puzzle lovers who want something a bit meatier than Patchwork.
What we like
- Tactile acrylic pieces make solving puzzles genuinely satisfying.
- Quick 40-minute playtime fits easily into any evening.
- Easy to learn but offers real depth for repeat play.
- Works well solo or with up to four players.
- A great gateway into engine-building strategy games.
Keep in mind
- Abstract presentation offers little theme for story-driven players.
- Direct player interaction is fairly limited.
- Available contracts can create swingy scoring opportunities.
