About the game
In Gingerbread House, a witch's gingerbread cottage is under constant attack from greedy fairy-tale intruders nibbling away at its walls, windows, and doors. Players place domino-like tiles into a 3x3 grid, covering symbols for four types of gingerbread and special actions, and can even stack new tiles on top of existing ones to build a three-dimensional structure. Covering two matching symbols grants a bonus gingerbread or action, rewarding careful planning of your stack. Victory points come from building the tallest structure, completing gingerbread orders, and being the fastest to hit certain milestones. Designed by Phil Walker-Harding, it plays 2 to 4 players in about 30 minutes.
Hobbli's Notes
Gingerbread House takes a whimsical fairy-tale theme and pairs it with a satisfying tile-stacking puzzle that rewards planning your matches ahead of time. We like the tactile pleasure of literally building your structure taller as the game progresses. Phil Walker-Harding's knack for approachable family design shows through in the quick, easy-to-teach rules. It's a charming, lighthearted choice for family game night.
