About the game

The King's Dilemma is a legacy narrative game where players represent noble houses guiding the Kingdom of Ankist through a deck of unique dilemma cards. Each card presents a problem the Council must resolve, and players discuss, bargain, and vote to determine the outcome, shaping an evolving story that unfolds differently every time. Every decision has lasting consequences for both the kingdom and your own house's fortunes. The game is fully resettable, letting groups replay it with new paths to discover. It supports 3 to 5 players in about an hour.

Hobbli's Notes

A superbly crafted legacy experience built entirely around negotiation and consequence. Watching your group's choices shape genuinely different storylines session to session is remarkable, and being resettable keeps it valuable long-term.

What we like

  • Rich branching narrative with genuinely lasting consequences.
  • Resettable legacy format extends its replayability enormously.
  • Strong negotiation, bribery, and voting drama at the table.
  • Memorable, evolving storylines unique to each group.

Keep in mind

  • Heavy negotiation may not suit quieter or more reserved groups.
