About the game

That's Pretty Clever! is a roll-and-write game where you choose dice to fill in colored regions on your personal score sheet, chaining together clever scoring combinations. Crucially, the dice you leave behind are just as important, since any lower-value die becomes available to other players, keeping everyone engaged even off their own turn. Six different scoring colors interact in surprising ways, rewarding players who can plan several moves ahead.

Hobbli's Notes

This is a standout roll-and-write that manages to make everyone feel involved on every turn, not just their own. The scoring synergies are deep enough to reward repeat plays, and the compact box makes it an easy go-to filler or solo game.

What we like

  • Clever chain-scoring combinations reward forward planning.
  • Everyone stays engaged even during other players' turns.
  • Quick to teach and finishes in about 30 minutes.
  • Strong, fully-featured solo mode.
  • Highly replayable thanks to varied dice outcomes.

Keep in mind

  • Score sheet bookkeeping can feel fiddly to newcomers.
  • Direct player interaction is minimal beyond dice availability.
  • Dice luck can still meaningfully affect scoring potential.
