About the game
Fallout is a post-nuclear adventure board game for one to four players, based on the hit Fallout video game series by Bethesda Softworks. Survivors explore a hidden modular map, fight enemies, and build their skills as they pursue quests and manage feuding wasteland factions. Choices shape which faction gains power, and the wasteland's fate hangs in the balance as players race to complete their objectives.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli thinks this adaptation captures the Fallout video game's exploration-and-choice feel surprisingly well: the faction system creates real tension, though it does demand a serious time investment.
What we like
- Rich thematic tie-in to the beloved Fallout video game universe.
- Very low downtime despite the long playtime.
- Multiple scenarios provide strong replayability.
- Flexible faction-based strategy paths.
Keep in mind
- Very long playtime, up to three hours.
- High complexity and commitment score demand a dedicated group.
- Modular board and quest cards add notable setup time.
- Dice rolling introduces some combat randomness.
Who it's for
Great for Fallout video game fans and adventure/exploration gamers, ages 14+, in groups of 1-4.
