About the game

Dreamscape casts players as dreamers wandering a surreal dreamworld, collecting dreamshards from mysterious locations and using them to construct a personal 3D dreamscape. Each of the six rounds splits into a travel phase, where you navigate paths and manage action points while dodging the mischievous Mr. Nightmare, and a creation phase, where you build your landscape from collected shards. Personal and shared goals shift each session, rewarding players who plan their routes and builds carefully. The tactile 3D construction element sets it apart from typical route-building Euro games.

Hobbli's Notes

The 3D building component is genuinely charming and photographs beautifully at the table, which makes this a memorable pick for players who like a tactile Euro. It leans toward the heavier, more cerebral end of our catalog, so it rewards a group willing to sit with route-planning and resource-timing decisions.

What we like

  • Unique tactile 3D dreamscape building sets it apart visually and mechanically.
  • Shifting common and personal goals keep repeat plays fresh.
  • Solid solo mode alongside multiplayer options.
  • Rewarding blend of route-planning and resource collection.

Keep in mind

  • Higher complexity and 90-minute playtime may not suit casual groups.
  • 3D components can be fiddly to assemble and store.
  • Niche mechanics combination may need an experienced teacher.

Who it's for

Best for strategy-minded gamers aged 12 and up who enjoy route-planning and puzzle-building, playing solo or in groups of up to 4.
