About the game
Encore! is a fast roll-and-write dice game where players check off boxes on a playing sheet based on color and number dice combinations. The starting player evaluates the roll first and removes two dice, shaping what options remain for everyone else. Points are earned by completing columns and matching colors, with bonuses for finishing first: and the game can restart for another Encore! once someone completes two colors.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli likes the clever dice-removal twist that gives the starting player real influence over everyone's options: a smart little addition to the roll-and-write genre.
What we like
- Quick, easy roll-and-write gameplay.
- Scales up to six players comfortably.
- Includes a solo mode.
- Dice-removal twist adds an interesting layer of strategic tension.
Keep in mind
- Limited strategic depth beyond dice management.
- Luck of the dice rolls significantly affects outcomes.
- Can feel repetitive after many plays.
Who it's for
Great for casual and family gamers ages 8+, in groups of 1-6, who enjoy quick roll-and-write fillers.
