About the game
Star Trek Panic is a cooperative game built on the Castle Panic system, tasking players with defending the U.S.S. Enterprise from waves of enemy attacks. Mission cards bring in unique challenges drawn from the original Star Trek series, while character cards let players take on the roles of icons like Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. Working together, players must manage incoming threats before the Enterprise takes too much damage. It's an approachable, licensed cooperative game that leans on nostalgic Star Trek flavor layered over a proven light-strategy chassis.
Hobbli's Notes
Star Trek Panic does a nice job of dressing up the accessible Castle Panic formula in Star Trek trappings, and fans of the original series will get a kick out of the character and mission cards. It's a solid, easy-to-teach cooperative option for a mixed group, though the theme mostly rides on top of mechanics that will feel familiar to Castle Panic players. It's a fun, nostalgic pick rather than a mechanically groundbreaking one.
