About the game

Quests of Valeria casts players as Guild Masters recruiting citizens to complete quests posted in the tavern of the Capital City. Each turn, you take two actions from drawing cards, hiring citizens, reserving quests, or completing quests, building combos as hired citizens trigger bonus actions in your guild. Citizens are paid for by discarding cards from your hand, so managing your hand efficiently is key to chaining powerful moves. The game ends once a player completes five quests, and the highest-scoring guild wins. It's a fast-playing set collection game with satisfying engine-building potential.

Hobbli's Notes

Quests of Valeria packs a surprising amount of combo-building into a small box and a short playtime: Hobbli's editorial team especially likes how hiring citizens can chain into free bonus actions, creating that classic 'engine clicking together' feeling. It's approachable enough for newer gamers but has enough depth to reward repeated plays. A great choice for fans of tableau-building games who want something quick and portable.
