About the game

Fury of Dracula (Third/Fourth Edition) is a classic hidden-movement game pitting one player as the vampire Count Dracula against up to four vampire hunters racing across Victorian Europe. Dracula moves in secret, leaving a trail of clues and rumors, while hunters must track, corner, and destroy him before he raises his influence to thirteen. The day/night structure and streamlined combat of this edition keep tension high on both sides of the hunt. It's an atmospheric, thematic deduction game steeped in gothic horror.

Hobbli's Notes

Fury of Dracula remains a benchmark hidden-movement game - the asymmetry between Dracula's stealthy cat-and-mouse play and the hunters' cooperative detective work creates fantastic tension. The third/fourth edition's day/night mechanic and rumor tokens add clever new layers of misdirection. It does run long and rewards a group willing to commit to a full evening. For fans of gothic horror and deduction, it's still one of the best.

What we like

  • Iconic asymmetric hidden-movement gameplay creates real tension.
  • Atmospheric gothic horror theme is richly realized.
  • Streamlined combat and day/night structure improve pacing over earlier editions.
  • High replayability due to Dracula's variable strategies.

Keep in mind

  • Long playtime of up to three hours demands a committed group.
  • High complexity and downtime may not suit casual players.
  • One player controls Dracula alone, which can feel isolating if eliminated early.

Who it's for

Best for ages 14 and up, appealing to strategy gamers and horror or mystery fans in groups of 2-5 who enjoy a long, tense hidden-movement experience.
