About the game
Dragonwood is a light adventure card game where players collect sets of adventurer cards to earn dice, then roll those dice to battle creatures lurking in a mythical forest. Combinations of cards in a row, of the same number, or of the same color let you attempt a Strike, Stomp, or Scream against fire ants, trolls, or dragons, each requiring different roll thresholds to capture. The ever-shifting landscape of available creatures and enhancement cards keeps every game different, and defeating both dragons ends the game for whoever has scored the most victory points. It's a quick, colorful push-your-luck game built to be easy for kids while still offering some decision-making.
Hobbli's Notes
Dragonwood hits a nice sweet spot for family games: the push-your-luck dice rolling is exciting without being punishing, and the fantasy creature theme is charming for younger players. It moves fast enough to fit in multiple rounds in one sitting. A solid, dependable choice for family game nights with kids old enough to handle a bit of dice-based risk.
