About the game
Smash Up: Monster Smash adds four new mix-and-match factions to the Smash Up card game: bloodthirsty vampires, mad scientists, explosive werewolves, and hive-minded giant ants. Each faction brings its own quirky abilities that combine unpredictably with cards from other Smash Up sets. Players pair two factions into a single deck and battle for control of bases, scoring points through area majority. It can be played on its own for two players or merged with other expansions for larger games.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editors enjoy this as a solid, funny addition to the ever-growing Smash Up ecosystem, with the horror-movie mashup theme landing well. The four new factions each bring a genuinely different flavor of chaos to the table. It leans hardest into its humor and silliness rather than deep strategy. A great pickup for existing Smash Up fans wanting more variety.
