About the game

Kemet is a fast-paced area-control battle game set in a mythologized ancient Egypt, where players command armies backed by the powers of the gods. Across a Day and Night cycle, you deploy troops, invade territories, and summon magical creatures to score victory points through conquest and control of temples and pyramids. Detailed miniatures and card-driven combat make every clash feel dramatic and consequential.

Hobbli's Notes

Kemet is one of the sharpest area-control war games around, delivering brutal, decisive battles without the bloat of a full-blown wargame. The asymmetric powers keep every faction feeling distinct, and the miniatures are simply gorgeous on the table.

What we like

  • Exciting, decisive tactical combat that stays fast-paced.
  • Gorgeous, highly detailed miniatures elevate the presentation.
  • Asymmetric player powers via tiles keep factions feeling unique.
  • Rewards clever timing of attacks over brute force.
  • Shorter and more aggressive than many area-control games.

Keep in mind

  • High level of direct conflict may not suit casual groups.
  • Rules and combat resolution take real effort to learn.
  • Downtime can occur when waiting through other players' battles.

Who it's for

Best for experienced gamers ages 13 and up, in groups of two to five, who enjoy direct conflict, tactical combat, and area-control strategy.
