About the game

Wiz-War is a classic maze-crawling wizard duel where two to four spellcasters battle through a shifting underground labyrinth. Using deck and bag building, dice rolling, and modular board tiles, players cast spells to blast opponents, dodge fireballs and werewolves, and steal treasure to haul back to their base. The maze itself can be reshaped mid-game, keeping the layout unpredictable from one turn to the next. First published in 1983, this eighth edition refreshes the artwork and streamlines play for faster, clearer duels. It's a chaotic, funny brawl of magical mayhem.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team has a soft spot for Wiz-War as a nostalgic classic that still holds up as pure chaotic fun. The modular maze and unpredictable spell effects keep every match feeling different, even after many plays. It's less about deep strategy and more about reveling in the mayhem, which makes it a great palate cleanser between heavier games. A fun pick for groups who enjoy a bit of chaos and take-that in their fantasy games.
