About the game
The Adventurers: The Pyramid of Horus sends two to six treasure hunters descending into a crumbling Egyptian pyramid, racing to grab archaeological relics before falling stones seal them inside forever. Each of the eight playable Adventurers has a unique special power, helping you explore four chambers and corridors while dodging hidden threats and living mummies along the way. Push-your-luck decisions determine how deep you dare go for more treasure versus when to make a run for the only way out. Whoever escapes alive with the highest treasure value wins, but greed can just as easily leave you trapped inside for good.
Hobbli's Notes
This is a thrilling push-your-luck adventure game that captures real Indiana-Jones-style tension as the pyramid literally starts to collapse around you. The mix of variable character powers and escalating danger keeps tension high right up to the final dash for the exit, and it supports a big group of up to six players. It leans into chaotic luck more than deep strategy, which is exactly the point for this kind of pulpy adventure game.
What we like
- Push-your-luck tension escalates thrillingly as the pyramid collapses.
- Unique character powers add asymmetric variety to each game.
- Quick 45-minute playtime supports a high player count well.
- Exciting Indiana-Jones-style theme and miniatures add table presence.
Keep in mind
- Heavy dice luck can frustrate strategy-minded players.
- Danger of being trapped inside can end some players' fun early.
- Miniature-heavy setup can slow down the start of play.
