About the game
Battle Cry places two players in command of Union or Confederate forces across 30 historical Civil War scenarios, from First Bull Run to Gettysburg. Using Richard Borg's acclaimed Command & Colors system, you play command cards to activate sections of your line, then roll custom dice to resolve combat between infantry, cavalry, and artillery. Terrain and troop deployment recreate the actual battlefields, letting you rewrite history with clever tactics. This anniversary edition updates and expands the original award-winning game.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team rates Battle Cry as one of the most approachable historical wargames available, thanks to Richard Borg's elegant Command & Colors system. Its card-driven activation keeps games moving briskly compared to traditional grid wargames, while still rewarding real tactical thinking. The 30 scenarios provide excellent variety and replay value for a relatively light rules footprint. A great entry point for players curious about historical miniatures wargaming.
