About the game

Ubongo 3D takes the beloved puzzle-race series into three dimensions, challenging players to fit wooden tiles across two layers to match shapes shown on double-sided puzzle cards. Each round rewards speedy, accurate solvers with gemstones, and the player with the most valuable collection at the end wins. With a beginner side and an advanced side on every card, it scales nicely for mixed groups of puzzle solvers.

Hobbli's Notes

We enjoy how the 3D layering refreshes the familiar Ubongo formula without losing its pick-up-and-play charm. The real-time pressure keeps everyone engaged simultaneously rather than waiting through turns, which is a big plus for family game nights. It's a light, satisfying brain-teaser that plays fast and never overstays its welcome.

What we like

  • Simultaneous real-time play keeps everyone active.
  • Two difficulty levels per card suit mixed skill groups.
  • Fast 30-minute games are easy to fit in.
  • Tactile 3D tiles add a fresh puzzle dimension.

Keep in mind

  • Real-time pressure can stress less confident players.
  • Limited long-term strategic depth.
  • Repeated play may reduce the puzzle-solving thrill.

Who it's for

Great for families and puzzle-loving groups aged 8 and up who enjoy quick, competitive spatial challenges.
