About the game
Piece o' Cake reimagines the classic cake-cutting dilemma: instead of one person cutting and the other choosing equally, players cleverly offer slices of five different cakes to their opponents while trying to secure the biggest haul for themselves. You can immediately eat a slice for guaranteed points or save it, hoping to collect a set for a bonus at game's end. Only skilled dividers who watch their opponents' choices closely will come out on top. Designed for 2-5 players, this light drafting and set-collection game wraps up in about 20 minutes.
Hobbli's Notes
A witty little filler built around a genuinely clever negotiation puzzle: offering slices to opponents while protecting your own interests never stops being fun. It's not deep, but as a quick warm-up or between heavier games it earns its spot on the shelf.
What we like
- Clever cake-slicing offer-and-choose mechanic.
- Quick 20-minute playtime ideal as a filler.
- Charming, lighthearted theme appeals to casual players.
- Easy to teach in just a few minutes.
Keep in mind
- Limited strategic depth for more experienced gamers.
- Slice distribution luck can feel unfair at times.
- Player interaction is largely limited to offering and choosing slices.
Who it's for
