About the game

Parks invites players to hike through the stunning beauty of 63 U.S. National Parks across three seasonal rounds. Two hikers per player move along a shared trail, collecting resources, taking photos of vistas, and encountering wildlife along the way. This expanded second edition adds camping, animal integrations, and a comprehensive selection of gear, challenges, and mechanics gathered from five years of the Parks series, alongside all-new illustrations. At the end of the third season, players tally points from their photographed vistas, visited parks, and collected gear to see who had the greatest hiking experience.

Hobbli's Notes

Parks is one of the most gorgeous games on the shelf, and this second edition folds in the best expansion content to make an already lovely game even richer. The trail-based worker placement is simple to grasp but leaves room for real strategic tension around resource timing. It's a wonderful game for nature lovers and families who want a relaxed but meaningful strategy experience.

What we like

  • Gorgeous artwork celebrating U.S. National Parks.
  • Combines multiple fan-favorite expansions into one definitive edition.
  • Approachable worker-placement mechanics suit families.
  • Solo mode offers a satisfying single-player experience.

Keep in mind

  • Limited direct conflict may not satisfy highly competitive players.
  • Trail-based movement can feel constrained at higher player counts.
  • Some may find scoring opportunities a bit formulaic across seasons.
