About the game
Shallow Sea is a multi-layered puzzle board game for 1-4 players inspired by the Great Barrier Reef, where players build vivid ocean landscapes from fish, coral, and marine life tiles. Unlike static tile-laying games, elements here can activate, deactivate, and move around your board, creating cascading combos as fish surround and complete coral pieces. Players use seashells to lure fish into place and chase varied ecosystem-card scoring conditions for a fresh puzzle every game.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team is impressed by Shallow Sea's dynamic puzzle design, where tiles don't just sit still but interact and move, adding a layer of depth beyond typical tile-placement games. The colorful reef theme and varied ecosystem scoring cards give it strong replay value for puzzle fans. It's a lovely, relaxing choice for solo or small-group sessions focused on careful planning.
