About the game
This revised edition puts 1-5 players in control of rival ant colonies competing for dominance over a meadow. Players explore modular tiles, evolve their ants into new forms, dig tunnel networks, and battle rival colonies and centipedes for territory. The Evolved Edition adds new artwork, refined mechanics, and wooden ant meeples while keeping the fast-playing, 4X-in-90-minutes feel of the original. It is an area-control strategy game with an unusually fun insect theme.
Hobbli's Notes
March of the Ants delivers a surprisingly rich 4X-style experience in a much shorter time than typical 4X games, which is its biggest draw. The evolving ant species mechanic gives real strategic texture as the game develops. The Evolved Edition's visual and mechanical polish should make this a strong pick for area-control fans. It rewards players who enjoy territorial expansion and adaptable strategies.
