About the game
Solstis is a fast, zen tile-collection game by Bruno Cathala for 1-2 players, set on a mountain landscape of forest spirits and flame-lit peaks. Using a hanafuda-style capture mechanic, players collect tiles by row or column and arrange them into their own personal landscape. The goal is to build the most harmonious scenery while denying useful tiles to an opponent, all in about 15 minutes. Its light footprint, quick setup, and calming theme make it easy to bring anywhere.
Hobbli's Notes
Solstis translates hanafuda's elegant capture logic into a soothing landscape-building puzzle that plays beautifully at two players or solo. The short playtime and low complexity make it easy to fit into a busy evening, and the production is genuinely lovely. It rewards spatial thinking about your own tableau alongside light blocking of your opponent. A great pick for players who want something contemplative rather than combative.
