About the game
Flatiron transports players to turn-of-the-century Manhattan to help construct the iconic Flatiron Building. Each player develops their own company by layering new cards onto a personal board, unlocking better actions on the surrounding streets. Points come from completing construction tasks, maintaining a strong public image, and following the city council's decrees. The game ends when the roof is placed, and whoever has earned the most points wins.
Hobbli's Notes
Flatiron is a tightly designed two-player engine builder with a clever card-layering system that keeps expanding your options round after round. The historical New York setting is a nice change of pace from typical euro themes. It rewards efficient planning and careful attention to your opponent's developing engine. A satisfying, brain-burny duel for two.
