About the game

Set in the 2010s, World Order casts 2 to 4 players as one of four global superpowers, the United States, China, Russia, or the European Union, vying to reshape the balance of world power. Players build area majority and influence across the globe using economic dependencies, military strength, and diplomatic alliances drawn from a hand-management and deck-building system. Each power plays asymmetrically, blending academic geopolitical theory with tense multiplayer strategy. A solo mode lets players practice strategies against the game's systems on their own. With a substantial 180-minute playtime and high complexity, it's a heavy strategy game aimed at players who enjoy simulating real-world international relations.

Hobbli's Notes

World Order is an ambitious attempt to turn modern geopolitics into a tightly wound strategy game, and the asymmetric powers give each side a genuinely different feel. We like that it leans on real academic theory about international relations rather than generic wargame tropes. As a newer release, we haven't seen extensive community feedback yet, so expect a learning curve while the table settles into each power's strengths. It's a strong choice for strategy gamers drawn to political and economic simulation themes.

What we like

  • Four genuinely asymmetric global powers each with distinct strategic identities.
  • Combines area majority, hand management, and deck-building into a cohesive geopolitical simulation.
  • Includes a solo mode for practicing strategies outside of full games.
  • Thematically ambitious take on modern diplomacy, economics, and military strength.

Keep in mind

  • Long playtime of around three hours demands a committed group.
  • High complexity rating creates a steep learning curve for newcomers.
  • As a very recent release, long-term replay value and balance are not yet well established.

Who it's for

Best for experienced strategy gamers aged 14+ interested in political and economic simulation, playing in groups of 2-4.
