About the game
Faraway is a quick card-drafting game of exploring the shifting continent of Alula. Each turn you play a card from your hand of three into a growing row, then draft a replacement from a shared river. At the end of the game you score your cards in reverse order, meaning early plays set up conditions that your later cards must fulfill. Simultaneous card selection adds a clever priority twist: being last to choose leaves you with the leftovers. It's a fast, elegant game with a satisfying planning puzzle underneath simple rules.
Hobbli's Notes
Faraway's backwards-scoring twist is genuinely clever and gives the game a distinct puzzle feel compared to other drafting games. Games move quickly, and the simultaneous drafting keeps everyone engaged rather than waiting around. It rewards a couple of plays before the combos click into place. A nice light-to-medium option for groups who want something a bit more novel than a typical drafting game.
