About the game

Jekyll & Hyde vs Scotland Yard is a cooperative trick-taking game for exactly two players, casting you as Dr. Jekyll, kind doctor and loyal friend, who is also the notorious Mr. Hyde, hunted by Scotland Yard for his misdeeds. Working together across a story-based campaign, you must maintain the balance of your dual identity while staying one step ahead of the investigation. Each chapter presents its own objectives that must be completed to progress the narrative. A standalone spin-off of Jekyll vs. Hyde, it fits into roughly 20-minute sessions with communication limits and hand management driving the tension.

Hobbli's Notes

A clever, tightly designed two-player experience that turns trick-taking into a cooperative storytelling device: the communication limits force real tension between the two personas. It's a satisfying campaign but, like many story-driven games, is meant to be experienced once through.

What we like

  • Innovative cooperative take on trick-taking for two players.
  • Strong narrative campaign structure across chapters.
  • Quick 20-minute sessions fit easily into an evening.
  • Standalone spin-off, accessible without owning the original.

Keep in mind

  • Strictly two-player, so it can't include a larger group.
  • Campaign content is consumed once and doesn't reset easily.
  • Niche trick-taking mechanic may not appeal to all players.

Who it's for

Ideal for exactly two players aged 10 and up who enjoy narrative-driven cooperative card games with a mystery theme.
