About the game

Jekyll vs. Hyde is a tense two-player trick-taking duel based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novella. One player controls the composed Dr. Jekyll, fighting to preserve his identity, while the other plays the monstrous Mr. Hyde, relentlessly pushing to dominate him. Across three rounds, the difference in tricks won each round shifts a shared Identity Marker toward Hyde, who wins if it ever reaches the end of the track. Clever card play and variable phase order keep both sides guessing about when to strike or hold back. Its tight two-player format and quick playtime make it an intense, replayable filler.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team appreciates how Jekyll vs. Hyde turns a simple trick-taking framework into a genuinely thematic tug-of-war, where even "winning" a round can still favor your opponent. The asymmetric goals for each side keep both roles feeling distinct and engaging. It's quick enough for multiple rounds in a sitting, and gorgeous Vincent Dutrait art seals the deal. Being strictly two-player limits it as a go-to option for larger groups.
