About the game
Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game is a head-to-head battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, with each player building up their starting ten-card deck by acquiring cards from a shared galaxy row. Resources let you recruit new cards, while attack power lets you destroy your opponent's ships and eventually their bases. The first player to destroy three of their opponent's bases wins, with replaceable bases and a shared Force track adding extra strategic options.
Hobbli's Notes
This is an approachable, well-themed deckbuilder that captures the Star Wars conflict nicely for two players. It's simple enough for deckbuilding newcomers while still offering real strategic choices around base selection and the Force track.
What we like
- Easy-to-learn deckbuilding mechanics for newcomers.
- Strong Star Wars theme with distinct Rebel versus Empire play.
- Quick setup with escalating tension as bases fall.
- Replaceable bases and the Force track add strategic layers.
Keep in mind
- Strictly limited to two players.
- Deckbuilding depth is lighter than genre heavyweights.
- Early galaxy row luck can swing the opening turns.
Who it's for
Great for Star Wars fans and deckbuilding newcomers ages 12 and up, playing exactly two players.
