About the game

Maple Valley sends young forest critters scrambling through Maple Valley's woods to prepare for the village's annual Spring Festival. Players climb, swim, and dig their way along trails to reach bountiful groves, forage ingredients for villagers' errands, and dig up curiosities that attract new scouts to their growing team, all through a blend of deck/bag building, hand management, and worker placement. Set in the whimsical world of Creature Comforts, it supports one to five players in about seventy-five minutes. The charming animal art and cozy atmosphere give it a warm, family-friendly feel alongside genuine strategic choices.

Hobbli's Notes

Maple Valley brings the same cozy charm as its Creature Comforts sibling games, layering worker placement and set collection over an adorable woodland theme. It has enough mechanical depth to satisfy hobbyist gamers while staying approachable for families. The moderate complexity and length mean it plays best once everyone already knows the basics.

What we like

  • Charming animal-themed art and world-building throughout.
  • Flexible worker-placement and set-collection systems blend well together.
  • Solid solo mode alongside support for up to five players.
  • Accessible for both families and dedicated hobbyist gamers.

Keep in mind

  • Moderate complexity may require a teaching round for younger players.
  • Longer seventy-five-minute playtime for what reads as a family theme.
  • Deck/bag-building elements add some setup overhead.

Who it's for

Great for families and hobbyist gamers alike, in groups of one to five, ages 8 and up, who enjoy cozy animal-themed strategy games.
