About the game
Marvel Zombies: X-Men Resistance drops the last surviving Super Heroes into an X-Mansion overrun by the undead, using the fast, tactical core of the Zombicide system reskinned with Marvel characters. Players control X-Men and their mutant rivals, unlocking unique hero skills as they eliminate zombies and rescue bystanders across 10 missions. Traits and heroic Power let players trigger special abilities, but growing stronger also spawns larger zombie hordes to hunt them down. The box also includes Zombie Mode content, letting fallen heroes join the horde when paired with the Marvel Zombies core set.
Hobbli's Notes
Fans of Zombicide's frantic, dice-driven horde combat will feel right at home here, and slapping the Marvel license on it (with genuinely striking Marco Checchetto artwork) adds a lot of charm. The escalating zombie spawns keep tension high across the ten missions, and the modular X-Mansion tiles give it good replay variety. It does require the core Marvel Zombies box for full Zombie Mode content, which is worth knowing before you buy.
What we like
- Fast, tactical Zombicide-based combat with escalating horde tension.
- Striking Marvel-licensed artwork and characters.
- Ten-mission campaign with modular X-Mansion tiles for replayability.
- Scales well from solo play up to six players.
Keep in mind
- Requires the core Marvel Zombies box for full Zombie Mode content.
- Dice-heavy combat resolution may feel repetitive over many sessions.
Who it's for
Great for cooperative miniatures-game fans and Marvel enthusiasts, ages 10 and up, playing in groups of 1-6.
