About the game
Trailblazers is a card-drafting puzzle game where 1-8 players build looping biking, hiking, and kayaking trails from their campsites. Each round, you draft two cards from a hand of eight, arrange them in your personal area, and pass the rest along, gradually constructing an elaborate network of paths. Only trails that form closed loops back to a matching campsite score points, alongside bonus goals completed along the way. With three solo modes and support for up to eight players, it's a flexible, replayable puzzle for outdoor-adventure fans.
Hobbli's Notes
Trailblazers turns simple card drafting into a genuinely satisfying spatial puzzle, with real tension in deciding whether to close a loop early or push your luck for a bigger one. Its zero downtime and simultaneous play make it a rare tile-drafting game that scales smoothly up to eight players. The colorful, nature-themed art and modular goal cards keep repeated plays feeling fresh. A great pick for families and puzzle-loving groups alike.
What we like
- Zero downtime keeps large groups engaged simultaneously.
- Supports up to eight players, unusual for this genre.
- Three distinct solo modes add strong single-player value.
- Push-your-luck loop-building creates satisfying spatial puzzles.
Keep in mind
- Only closed loops score, which can be frustrating for careless planning.
- Card layering mechanics may need a round or two to fully grasp.
- Simultaneous drafting can occasionally cause minor table confusion.
Who it's for
Great for families and puzzle fans ages 8+ in groups of 1-8, including solo players, who enjoy spatial drafting and route-building games.
