About the game

Mindbug: First Contact is a fast-paced two-player card duel where you summon bizarre hybrid creatures to battle your opponent, but each player also holds Mindbug cards that let them steal a creature the moment it's summoned. With no resource management, mana, or ramp-up phase, games start at full power immediately and hinge purely on smart timing and reading your opponent. Weird, powerful creatures like the Compost Dragon and Kangasaurus Rex bring humor and surprise to every match. Its tight, 25-minute duels make it an instantly replayable modern classic.

Hobbli's Notes

Mindbug's genius is in what it leaves out - no resources, no ramp-up, just pure creature-versus-creature tactics from turn one. The Mindbug-stealing mechanic creates constant mind games about when to play your best card versus baiting out your opponent's Mindbugs. It's short enough to play several rounds back to back, and endlessly replayable thanks to card variety. A fantastic pick for quick, sharp two-player duels.
