About the game

TRAILS is a standalone adventure in the PARKS series that sends 2-4 players hiking iconic U.S. sites, gathering resources, observing wildlife, and earning wilderness badges. Players move back and forth along a modular trail, collecting rocks, acorns, and leaves, taking photos, and encountering wildlife for bonuses, then cashing resources in for badges at each end of the trail. As the sun sets over the course of the game, trail sites grant more powerful actions before eventually shutting down entirely, and the player with the most points from badges, photos, and bird sightings wins.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team enjoys how TRAILS captures the calm, scenic feel of a national park hike using the same beautiful Fifty-Nine Parks artwork as its sibling game PARKS. The back-and-forth movement and day/night shift give it a gentle rhythm that's easy to pick up with family or casual groups. It's light on confrontation and depth, so committed strategy gamers may find it a touch too breezy.

What we like

  • Gorgeous nature-themed artwork from the Fifty-Nine Parks series.
  • Easy-to-learn worker placement suitable for families.
  • Satisfying day-to-night structural shift changes strategy mid-game.
  • Modular trail keeps repeat plays visually varied.

Keep in mind

  • Lighter strategic depth may not satisfy experienced gamers.
  • Limited direct player interaction.
  • Variable trail setups can make difficulty inconsistent.

Who it's for

Well suited to families and casual groups of 2-4, including younger teens and nature lovers who enjoy relaxed worker-placement games.
