About the game
Hoplomachus: Remastered collects the best content from the earlier Hoplomachus: The Lost Cities and Hoplomachus: Rise of Rome games, delivering gladiator combat for one to four players in solo, cooperative, or competitive modes. Using Chip Theory Games' signature poker-chip components, players build decks and bags of abilities, roll dice, and maneuver on a grid-based arena to outfight rivals or scripted opponents. New original art and streamlined rules give an already popular franchise a premium production upgrade. Its chips are also cross-compatible with the standalone title Victorum for even more combinations.
Hobbli's Notes
Chip Theory Games has a well-earned reputation for gorgeous, tactile components, and this remaster is a great showcase of that craftsmanship alongside genuinely solid gladiator-combat gameplay. The flexibility across solo, co-op, and competitive modes makes it a versatile pick depending on who's at the table. The premium components come at a premium price, which is worth knowing going in.
