About the game
Ancient Knowledge has players erecting monuments and building artefacts to pass on their civilization's knowledge before time erodes it away. Through hand management and card drafting, you combine tagged cards for synergy, racing to construct iconic sites from Mexican pyramids to the Sphinx of Giza before their legacy fades. Time itself is your only real opponent, as monuments and knowledge inevitably decline. It's a strategic card game about building a legacy that outlasts the ages.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editors find the decay-over-time twist on card-combo building genuinely clever, though as a smaller-scale release we have less firsthand confidence in how it plays out across many games.
What we like
- Clever decay-over-time mechanic forces adaptive planning.
- Tag-based synergy rewards clever combo-building.
- Quick 75-minute playtime for the strategic depth offered.
- Strong civilization theme built around iconic real monuments.
Keep in mind
- Card-drafting luck can limit available synergies.
- The tag system may need a reference aid for new players.
- Niche title with a smaller community and less table-tested reputation.
Who it's for
