Sentinels of the Multiverse: Definitive Edition reimagines the beloved cooperative comic-book card game with all-new art and streamlined mechanics. Three to five players each control a Hero, combining unique powers and hand management to take down a single villain within a hazardous environment. The villain and environment are driven entirely by cards, so no one needs to play the "bad guy": everyone's rooting for the heroes. With numerous heroes, villains, and environments included, matchups create wildly different puzzles each session. It's a fully cooperative superhero showdown with strong solo support too.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team loves how thematic Sentinels feels: every hero plays like a distinct comic archetype, and villain decks have real personality instead of just stat blocks. The Definitive Edition's rebalanced rules trim some of the fiddliness that made earlier printings feel bloated. It shines brightest with 3-4 players who enjoy combo-building hands, though it's just as happy played solo. Some fixed villain scripts can feel a touch repetitive after many plays of the same matchup.
