About the game

Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game throws you into the Marvel Universe as a team of heroes recruiting allies like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Iron Man to battle iconic villains such as Magneto and Dr. Doom. Each game mixes and matches hero decks and masterminds for wildly different challenges every session. As a semi-cooperative deck-builder, you'll balance building your own engine with helping your team stop the villain's scheme before it's too late. With dozens of heroes across expansions, its combinations are nearly endless.

Hobbli's Notes

Legendary hits a sweet spot for Marvel fans and deck-building fans alike: recruiting your dream team of heroes never gets old, and the modular mastermind/scheme system keeps replays feeling fresh. It leans on its license for a lot of its appeal, but as a deck-builder it's genuinely solid too.

What we like

  • Beloved Marvel license with dozens of familiar heroes and villains.
  • Highly modular setup keeps every game feeling different.
  • Solid deck-building engine that rewards synergy hunting.
  • Scales well from solo play up to five players.

Keep in mind

  • Can feel fiddly to set up with so many modular pieces.
  • Semi-cooperative structure sometimes leads to lopsided team performance.
  • Card text density can slow down new players' turns.

Who it's for

Great for ages 14+ Marvel fans and deck-building enthusiasts; plays well cooperatively with 2-5 players, or solo.
