About the game
Rolling Heights is a 1920s city-building game where 1-4 players roll their meeples like dice, using standing meeples that land face-up to gain special actions and building materials while face-down meeples provide nothing. Players can push their luck for better rolls but risk losing valuable materials in the process. Completing buildings, including towering skyscrapers, earns prestige and unlocks new workers for even bigger construction projects as your career as a general contractor takes off.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team enjoys designer John D. Clair's inventive meeple-as-dice mechanism, which gives the classic push-your-luck formula a fresh spin here. The steady progression from small buildings to skyscrapers creates a satisfying sense of escalating ambition, and the solo mode extends its appeal. Turns can run a bit long as players weigh their risk, so downtime can build up in fuller player counts.
