About the game
Imperium: Classics is an asymmetric civilization deckbuilder featuring eight ancient civilizations - Carthaginian, Celt, Greek, Macedonian, Persian, Roman, Scythian, and Viking - each with its own fully unique deck of cards and objectives. Players guide their people from nomadic origins into an era of empire, balancing rapid expansion against the unrest it brings. The game includes individual solo opponents behaving as each nation, and is fully compatible with Imperium: Legends for even more civilizations. Its card-driven system keeps downtime low despite its considerable depth.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli considers this a standout in the civilization-deckbuilding space precisely because the asymmetry runs so deep - no shared card pool, just genuinely distinct decks per civilization. The strong solo mode and near-zero downtime make it a rewarding long-term investment for strategy and solo gamers alike.
What we like
