About the game

Funfair is a lighter, faster standalone entry in the Unfair theme-park-building universe, where players draft and build attractions, upgrade them to match secret blueprints, and hire staff to boost their park's appeal. Over six rounds of random city events and card drafting, players build a tableau of attractions, upgrades, and staff to generate growing income and score victory points at game's end. With only positive player interaction and quick setup, it's designed as a family-friendly introduction to modular theme-park building. Experienced Unfair fans will still find fresh combos and strategic depth.

Hobbli's Notes

Funfair does a great job trimming the heavier Unfair mechanics down into something brisk and approachable while keeping satisfying tableau-building combos intact. The purely positive interaction makes it a relaxed, low-conflict choice for family game nights. It won't fully replace Unfair's depth for veteran fans, but as a gateway or filler-plus game it hits the mark.

What we like

  • Quick setup and fast gameplay for its genre.
  • Purely positive player interaction, ideal for families.
  • Satisfying card-combo building through attractions and upgrades.
  • Secret blueprints and public awards add replayable goals.

Keep in mind

  • Less depth than its parent game Unfair for veteran strategy gamers.
  • Random city events can swing the game's pace.
  • Limited direct player interaction may feel too solitary for some.

Who it's for

Great for families and casual gamers aged 14+ (2-4 players) looking for a light, positive-interaction city/park-building card game.
