About the game

Railroad Ink Challenge: Shining Yellow Edition is a quick roll-and-write game where players draw connecting railways, highways, and stations on their personal board each round. Rolling dice determines which route pieces you can draw, and you'll be penalized for any connections left dangling by game's end. This edition introduces in-game goals that reward whichever player completes them first, adding a fresh layer of direct competition to the usual solitaire-style drawing. New special dice and structures like factories, villages, and universities add further variety. Supporting 1 to 4 players in about 30 minutes, it's an easy game to bring anywhere.

Hobbli's Notes

Railroad Ink Challenge builds nicely on the original series by adding competitive goals that make you pay attention to what your opponents are drawing, not just your own board. It's a satisfying puzzle in a short package, and the dry-erase boards mean it's endlessly replayable. The Shining Yellow Edition's desert-oasis theme is a nice visual change of pace. A dependable pick for quick game nights or solo puzzle sessions.

  • Solo mode makes it great for travel or downtime.
  • High replayability thanks to varied dice combinations.
