About the game
The Mind Extreme is a cooperative card game where players must silently play cards from their hands in ascending order, without any communication or agreed signals. It builds on The Mind by using two decks numbered 1-50 instead of one deck of 100, with one pile played ascending and the other descending, doubling the mental juggling required. Some levels are even played blind, discarding face-down so no one sees what's been played. Success depends entirely on the group's shared intuition and timing.
Hobbli's Notes
The Mind Extreme takes the beloved wordless-cooperation formula of The Mind and cranks up the intensity with dual decks and blind rounds. It's a genuinely unique group experience, generating real gasps and laughs as players narrowly avoid (or don't avoid) misplays. It's best enjoyed with a group that already loves The Mind and wants an extra challenge.
What we like
- Unique wordless cooperative gameplay creates real tension.
- Dual ascending/descending decks add fresh challenge over the original.
- Quick 20-minute playtime fits easily into any game night.
- Blind-play levels add a memorable extra twist.
Keep in mind
- Requires The Mind fans' buy-in to the no-talking concept.
- Limited strategic control can frustrate some players.
- Best experienced after already knowing the base game.
Who it's for
Great for groups of 2-4 who enjoy cooperative, no-talking challenges, ages 8+ who already enjoy The Mind.
