About the game
Rune Stones is a deck-building game from acclaimed designer Rüdiger Dorn, where players forge gems into Artifacts and combine them into powerful Rune Stones. Every card has a unique number, and playing two cards together removes the higher-numbered one from your deck, forcing careful decisions about which cards to keep. Players summon creatures, gather resources, and build Rune Stones for special abilities and points, racing to be the first to 65 points. It's a clever twist on deck-thinning mechanics wrapped in a fantasy druid theme.
Hobbli's Notes
We really like the unique deck-thinning twist: losing your best cards to gain them creates fascinating tension not found in typical deck-builders. The three-action structure keeps turns snappy despite the depth. A strong pick for deck-building fans wanting something a bit different.
