About the game
Nova Luna is an abstract tile-laying puzzle game in which players draft tiles from a rotating moon wheel, each bringing a new task to complete by surrounding it with correctly colored tiles. Completing a task lets you place a marker, and the first player to place all their markers wins. With simple rules but constantly shifting priorities, players must adapt their plans each round as the wheel turns and new tasks emerge. Designed by Uwe Rosenberg, it offers an elegant, meditative puzzle experience for 1-4 players in about an hour.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team appreciates Nova Luna's quiet, contemplative puzzle-solving, which stands in contrast to Rosenberg's heavier farming games. The rondel mechanism for drafting tiles creates just enough tension to keep decisions interesting without overwhelming new players. It's an easy game to pick up, though the abstract theme may feel dry for players wanting more narrative engagement. Solo play holds up well, making it a flexible choice for varied group sizes.
