About the game

Fearsome Floors is a tense race game where players must guide their disks out of a crumbling dungeon within just 14 turns, all while dodging a monster that's always hungry for fresh prey. Each round, players move one disk at a time, flipping it over to reveal how far they can move next round, and can even try to lure the monster toward their rivals instead. Blood slicks, boulders, and teleporting hazards make positioning a constant puzzle. It's a clever movement and line-of-sight game from designer Friedemann Friese that rewards cunning over brute force.

Hobbli's Notes

A cult classic with a genuinely clever monster-movement AI that keeps every player on edge. The tension of leading the beast toward an opponent's piece never gets old.

What we like

  • Clever, puzzle-like monster movement system.
  • Scales well from small groups up to seven players.
  • Tense positional decisions every single turn.
  • Modular board keeps replays feeling fresh.

Keep in mind

  • Can feel punishing when your piece gets targeted early.
  • Dated horror theme and art may feel old-fashioned.
  • Some downtime possible with larger player counts.

Who it's for

Great for groups of 2-7 aged 10+ who enjoy tense, tactical racing with a menacing twist.
