About the game

Unmatched: Battle of Legends, Volume One pits iconic heroes like King Arthur, Alice, Medusa, and Sinbad against each other in fast, tactical miniature combat. Each fighter plays with their own unique deck and set of special abilities, so every matchup feels distinct. Combat resolves quickly by comparing attack and defense cards, layering in clever timing decisions without any dice or luck. It's an incredibly replayable head-to-head fighting game that's easy to learn but hard to master.

Hobbli's Notes

Unmatched is one of the best pure two-player fighting games on the market: the asymmetry between heroes is beautifully balanced, and the no-luck combat resolution rewards genuine skill and card-reading. Its short playtime and endless hero combinations make it a perennial favorite for game nights.

What we like

  • Highly asymmetric heroes each feel genuinely distinct to play.
  • No-luck combat resolution rewards skillful card play.
  • Fast setup and quick playtime make it easy to play multiple rounds.
  • Huge and growing roster of heroes across the Unmatched line.

Keep in mind

  • Best experienced with an even number of players (2 or 4).
  • New players may need a game to grasp each hero's unique deck.
