About the game
Camel Up has players betting on which of five camels will finish first and second in a chaotic race around a pyramid. Camels move according to dice released one at a time from a pyramid shaker, and camels can stack on top of each other, carrying each other along for the ride. Betting earlier on a leg's outcome earns bigger rewards, but predicting who will actually move next is never a sure thing. The 2018 edition adds new artwork, an updated board and pyramid, and rogue camels that can run the race backwards. It's a lighthearted, luck-driven racing game that's easy for the whole table to enjoy.
Hobbli's Notes
Camel Up is a joyful chaos generator: the pyramid dice-shaker mechanism makes every reveal exciting no matter how much you know about the odds. It supports up to eight players comfortably, which is rare for a game this light and fun. Strategy-minded players may find the heavy luck frustrating, but that's exactly what makes it such a great crowd-pleaser. A reliable pick for big, mixed-experience groups.
