About the game

Zombicide: Invader transports the popular cooperative Zombicide series into a sci-fi setting, pitting 1-6 survivors against relentless swarms of alien Xenos. Players take on soldiers or civilians with unique skills, working together to complete mission objectives while fighting off waves of increasingly dangerous enemies. Better weapons mean a higher body count, but they also attract more Xenos, creating a constant risk-reward tension. Survivors must balance offense with self-preservation, especially when caught on the planet's hostile, oxygen-starved surface.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's editorial team enjoys how Zombicide: Invader keeps the series' signature escalating-threat tension while giving it a fresh sci-fi coat of paint. The modular missions and variable player powers ensure strong replayability across many sessions. It works well solo or with a full group, which is a real strength for a miniatures-heavy cooperative game. Dice-based combat means some swinginess, but the overall thematic tension holds up well.

What we like

  • Escalating risk-reward tension between better weapons and more enemies.
  • Scales well from solo play up to six players.
  • Modular missions and variable powers boost replayability.
  • Strong thematic execution of a desperate alien invasion.

Keep in mind

  • Dice-based combat introduces notable luck.
  • Large miniature and component footprint takes up significant table space.
  • Missions can feel repetitive without deliberate scenario variety.

Who it's for

Great for cooperative game fans aged 14+ in groups of 1-6 who enjoy thematic miniatures combat.
