About the game

Luxor sends players' teams of adventurers racing through an ever-changing modular temple toward the pharaoh's tomb, collecting treasures along the way. Using a hand of movement cards you can't reorder, you nudge your explorers forward tile by tile, triggering treasure grabs, bonus tiles, and shortcuts as you go. It's a light race-and-collect game where quick decisions and a bit of luck combine to create a fast, family-friendly path to victory. With a modular board, every game finds a new route to the tomb.

Hobbli's Notes

Luxor is a great next-step family game: simple to explain, plays in under an hour, and the changing board keeps repeat plays fresh. The forced card order adds just enough planning tension without becoming fiddly. It won't satisfy hardcore strategy gamers, but as a family race game it's colorful, tactile, and quick to reset for another round.

What we like

  • Modular board keeps every game fresh and different.
  • Simple rules make it easy to teach to kids and new players.
  • Fast 45-minute playtime suits family game nights.
  • Colorful components and theme appeal to younger players.

Keep in mind

  • Forced card order limits strategic depth.
  • Luck of the draw can outweigh planning.
  • Experienced strategy gamers may find it too light.

Who it's for

Perfect for families with kids age 8+ and casual gamers wanting a light race-and-collect game for 2-4 players.
